This is a full-time position where you will have the opportunity to accelerate your career, working in our modern Brisbane office.This opportunity will provide you with the ability to learn and become skilled in a wide variety of planning projects, while being part of our wider 700+ multidisciplinary team in the APAC region.Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will ideally have 2-5 years of experience in the industry.
As part of a growing team in SLR, you will be responsible for carrying out services that range from:Undertaking development assessment functions for a range of complex applications, from due diligence/site selection through to approval and conditioning.Working within a multi-disciplinary team that is flexible to change, while actively contributing to fostering a positive team culture.Providing technical planning advice to a range of internal and external clients on local, state, and regional planning issues.Interpreting legislation, regulation, and other guideline material relating to various development projects.Being proactive in managing statutory timeframes and supporting negotiations with state and local authorities.Preparing written reports, correspondence, submissions, and briefs on land use planning issues and projects.Undertaking research, analysis, and problem-solving.Representing SLR in a professional and effective manner at client/industry/stakeholder events.Building professional relationships across the SLR team and ensuring timeframes are adhered to by internal technical leads.ExperienceAt a minimum, successful candidates must have:A degree in town planning or equivalent.Strong verbal and written communication skills, including report writing.Strong statutory interpretation and sound understanding of legislation, regulation, and policies in the Queensland Planning framework.Ability to work in large project teams by clearly defining timeframes and deliverables.Ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a team.Ability to take the initiative and be proactive in your workplace.Experience in the following areas will be advantageous to your application:Exposure to/understanding of town planning, property, and the development environment.Experience in renewable energy/projects supporting the energy transition.Exposure to/understanding of the consulting industry.BenefitsOur culture is unique, and we work together to collaborate on projects to get the best possible outcome for our clients.
