Reel Planning is a mid-sized town planning firm with offices in Brisbane, Rockhampton, and Cairns. Reel Planning has a highly motivated team of 10 experienced professional planners engaged in a broad range of work covering development assessment, local government services, court appeals, and strategic planning.
Reel Planning is seeking a town planner to join its team. The role will be based in the Cairns office, where you will work closely with our experienced team. The position has a focus on providing statutory and strategic town planning assistance to our regional local government client base. There will also be opportunities to work across other sectors of the business, including preparing private sector development applications and advice, and providing assistance (to the Directors of Reel Planning who are regularly engaged as experts to assist the Court) on Planning and Environment and Land Court matters.

What the ideal applicant will possess: A tertiary qualification in town planning (or similar). 1 to 5 years experience in a town planning role in either private consulting or government in Queensland. An ability to clearly communicate in a range of settings (written and oral) both internally and externally to the organisation. An ability to work independently, including appropriately managing time and priorities. An ability to work with others, including internally with other staff and externally with clients and other consultants. A willingness to learn and increase your town planning experience and skills as part of this role. A passion for regional Queensland. Salary offered will be commensurate with the experience and capabilities of the successful applicant.
