Expressions of Interest Town of Walkerville Audit and Risk Committee – Independent Member Expressions of Interest are being sought from interested parties to fill an upcoming vacant independent member position on Council's Audit and Risk Committee, commencing 1 January 2025 and concluding 31 December 2027 The Audit and Risk Committee is an advisory committee to Council established to assist in the effective conduct of Council's responsibilities for good governance, the management of risk, financial reporting and maintenance of reliable systems and internal controls in order to facilitate the achievement of its organisational objectives. The committee consists of two Elected Members and three Independent Members. The independent member should be suitably qualified and be able to demonstrate the following: Prior board or relevant committee experienceRelevant professional qualifications and/or experience in one or more of the following areas: financial management, risk management, governance or audit. An understanding of the principles of good governanceAn understanding of the local government sectorThe Committee typically meets between five to six times per year, or as business needs arise, with a sitting fee paid to independent members per meeting.
