What does this Position do?
Reporting to the Team Leader, Visitor Information Centre, this position involves providing customer service and administrative support at the Visitor Information Centre (VIC), with a focus on customer service, tour bookings, retail sales and cash handling.
Key Objectives

Providing excellent customer service via telephone, in-person, and electronic communications.
Cash Handling and receipting with accuracy and integrity.
Performing general administrative tasks and daily operational duties.
Assisting visitors in becoming familiar with local services and attractions.
Working with volunteers on Cruise Ship Days to ensure a smooth visitor experience.
Engage with the community and maintain positive public relations.
Participating in familiarisation activities ('famils') to stay informed about local offerings.
Serve as a representative of the City of Port Lincoln, promoting the city's attractions and services.
Reporting of incidents, near miss, injuries, property damage, and identified hazards.
Take reasonable care to protect their own safety and the health and safety of others.
Follow reasonable instruction on health and safety and injury management.
Actively participate in training and WHS programs as required.
Any other responsibilities in line with the position as assigned by the Team Leader and/or Port Lincoln City Council.

Essential Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

Flexibility to work any day of the week, including public holidays (except Christmas Day).
Knowledge of local services, businesses, experiences, and attractions.
Retail sales and use of receipting Point of Sale
Ability to research and provide information on request.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to follow procedures and instructions accurately.
Demonstrated Experience in Cash Handling.
Demonstrated Experience in Customer Service.
Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.

Desired Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

Experience in Tourism Industry.
Use of booking software including REZDY and other online booking procedures.
Local Government working experience.
Knowledge and understanding of local government legislation, guidelines, and standards relevant to the area of operation.

Key Performance Indicators

Meet Tourism Industry Council South Australia (TICSA) accreditation requirements with training and familiarisations (famils).
High level of customer service attained.
