Our mission drives us, and we want you to be part of the journey.About the OpportunityCouncil is seeking a Tourism and Economic Development Officer to join their Economic Development team for a fixed term period of seven (7) months.You will be:Undertaking the recruitment, retention, supervision and training of volunteers and when applicable paid staff;Delivery of weekly Dalby Saleyard Tours, supporting the award-winning Big Skies Festival and other Tourism and Destination Events as scheduled in the Tourism Action Plan;Contributing to productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders;Liaising with local Chambers of Commerce and other stakeholders to support activities and projects focussed on business development and economic growth within the Western Downs;Collecting, organising and distributing key economic updates and promoting internal projects and activities to business audiences across the region.Promoting the Western Downs region for the benefit of the regional economy, including for a place to visit and do business;About yourselfA person in this position will need to hold a relevant qualification in Economic Development, Tourism and/or Volunteer Management OR be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience.The benefits working for WDRC:Work / life balanceWe understand the importance of balance.
