12 weeks paid parental leave for primary caregivers and 6 weeks paid secondary care giver's leaveTraining and development opportunitiesOpportunities to be part of our wide and active range of Employee Resourcing Groups: Reconciliation, Gender, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD), Disability, Mental Health and Neurodiversity, and Perth Mint with PrideCharity and volunteer initiativesIncome protection after an accident or illnessHealth and wellness programs, including an Employee Assistance Program, ongoing wellbeing initiatives, and workplace community building spacesYour role as a Tour Guide and Gold Pourer will involve: Conduct tours for visitors, school groups, media, inbound tour groups, corporate clients and VIPs ranging from politicians to film and television personalitiesPerform gold pouring demonstrations in the Melting House for audiences of up to 75 people at a time, involving heavy lifting and pouring molten metal to create a 200oz gold barMemorise tour script up to 30 minutes in length and deliver spiel in an entertaining and theatrical mannerUnderstand and inform visitors of safety and emergency evacuation proceduresCreate medallion designs using specialised computer softwareEngrave and sell personalised medallions, including solid gold, to visitors and corporate clients, including bulk ordersEngage with culturally and linguistically diverse client base in a friendly and professional manner and answer questions based on an in-depth knowledge of the gold industry and The Perth Mint's history and current operationsPromote the Mint at tourism and other external events, such as WA WeekEnsure own safety and health at work and avoid adversely affecting the safety or health of any other person through any act or omission at workExperience: Customer service experienceEnjoys public speakingTheatrical experience (preferred)Speaking a second language (Chinese, Japanese, Mandarin) is desirableAvailability to work weekdays and weekendsIt's easy to dismiss the perfect opportunity if you don't see yourself as the perfect fit.
