Purchasing, Procurement & Inventory (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics)
About the role
This is a full-time Supply Chain Officer position at Hextar Retail Berhad, based in Rawang, Selangor.
As a key member of the Supply Chain team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods and materials, contributing to the overall success of the company's operations.
What you'll be doing
Track timber procurement activities and generate reports on inventory turnover, timber processing productivity, and inventory level forecasts.
Analyze timber purchasing, usage, and movement data to anticipate inventory challenges and shortages, aiding in decision-making.
Oversee timber stock movement records, promptly identifying and resolving discrepancies or issues.
Assess dead and slow-moving stock and collaborate with the team to clear these stocks efficiently.
Coordinate with the Planning Department to select suitable timber species for each product, considering stock availability, natural characteristics, and market trends.
Inspect incoming logs and supervise sawing processes at log yards or sawmills.
Prepare site visit reports and negotiate effectively with suppliers.
Provide data and support for supplier evaluation and selection.
Assist the team in timber stock-taking activities.
Support daily timber purchasing operations, including issuing Purchase Orders, monitoring deliveries, managing claims and credits, and processing payments.
Conduct ad hoc investigations or projects as assigned by management to enhance processes.
Plan, monitor, and perform internal quality audits in compliance with ISO and FSC standards.
What we're looking for
Relevant tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
2-4 years of experience in a supply chain or procurement role, ideally within the manufacturing, transport, or logistics industry.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve supply chain challenges.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with suppliers, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders.
Proficiency in using supply chain management software and data analysis tools.
Knowledge of relevant industry regulations, best practices, and trends.
A proactive and collaborative approach to work, with a focus on continuous improvement.
