Primary Objective: Provides professional advice and leadership in the creation, implementation, and review of the Department of Corrections (DoC) workforce development initiatives to ensure professional development is planned and designed to address current and future needs.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a strategy that addresses both current and future workforce capability development needs.
Manage, direct, report, and evaluate the review and analysis of workforce development initiatives.
Conduct a training needs analysis and develop a strategic workforce capability plan.
Conduct audits of essential skills and coordinate feedback.
Develop partnerships with key stakeholders for training development and delivery.
Research and provide advice on workforce data and contemporary/emerging workforce issues.
Review, design, and support best practice systems in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
Selection Criteria:
Essential:
Proven experience in the design, development, and implementation of workforce strategies.
High standard of written and oral communication skills.
Sound research, conceptual, and analytical skills.
Demonstrated management skills including team supervision.
Experience in providing quality service to stakeholders.
Working knowledge of adult learning principles and practices.
Desirable:
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
Relevant tertiary qualifications.
Further Information: The Department of Corrections has a Smoke Free Policy.
Staff are not permitted to smoke on departmental premises.
The preferred applicant(s) will be required to complete a pre-employment questionnaire and undergo a criminal history check prior to commencement of employment.
