We are seeking experienced claims or legal professionals—ideally with expertise in both—across professional indemnity and financial lines insurance products.
You will be able to demonstrate a successful track record in resolving large, technically complex claims both directly and through mentoring others.
This will be backed by strong commercial acumen, pragmatic advice, and a customer-centric approach, all developed through diverse claims management experience.
Your ability to navigate negotiations, mediations or litigations to achieve customer and cost-effective settlements will set you apart.
Your reputation will be built on the knowledge you share, rather than simply what you know.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provide technical decision-making for specialty claims teams across portfolios.
Serve as the next-level decision-maker for complex claim referrals from senior claims officers and leaders.
Coach and mentor senior claims officers, claims officers and coaches.
Support the design and implementation of processes and internal controls to ensure adherence to risk frameworks and applicable regulations.
Collaborate with the National Manager to set benchmarks for technical performance, fostering a high-performing and engaging team environment.
Design and implement improvements to elevate technical decision-making within specialty claims teams and the broader Commercial Claims business.
Critically assess legal panel advice and support claims officers in implementing reserving and claims strategies, ensuring decisions are both commercially and customer-focused.
Manage internal and external stakeholder expectations regarding likely claim outcomes and portfolio impacts.
Skills & Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience managing complex claims across financial lines and professional indemnity risks.
Minimum 2 years' experience in coaching and people development.
Experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
Experience as an associate or senior associate-level lawyer in an insurance law firm is highly desirable.
