SO4 is a fast-growing Perth based mining company developing its clean, green and sustainable Lake Way Project, striving toward the production of high-grade Sulphate of Potash (SOP).
Our Lake Way asset is located in the Goldfields region of Western Australia, 15 kilometres south of Wiluna. We are about to enter a critical 3-phase process: Restart , the sale of the first commercial product, Nameplate , and Production .
THE ROLE
Are you ready to lead environmental excellence in the resource sector? At SO4, we're driving sustainable outcomes at the Lake Way Project and are on the hunt for a passionate Senior Environmental Advisor to join our Perth-based team.
In this pivotal role, you'll provide expert guidance to enhance environmental performance, ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks, and champion sustainability initiatives. This is your chance to make a tangible impact on the future of environmental management in the mining industry.
As a Senior Environmental Advisor, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, mitigating risks, developing comprehensive environmental management plans and preparing approval submissions. Your expertise will directly influence the sustainable growth and operations of our projects.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Prepare approval submissions Lead the development and implementation of environmental management plans and impact assessments. Collaborate with stakeholders, including consultants, technical specialists, and cross-functional teams, to support approvals processes. Advise on environmental risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies. Provide guidance on compliance with environmental and heritage statutory requirements. Develop and maintain environmental monitoring strategies, registers, and systems. Conduct environmental audits, facilitate studies, and ensure compliance targets are achieved. Engage with government agencies and stakeholders to secure environmental approvals. Participate in field activities, ensuring alignment with approvals monitoring requirements. ABOUT YOU
You're a seasoned environmental professional with the following qualifications:
A degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, or a related field. At least 6 years' industry experience in environmental roles, ideally in the resources sector. Proficiency in MS Office, with experience in ArcGIS/QGIS being a plus. Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills. Strong understanding of WA environmental legislation, including the Environmental Protection Act 1986 and Mining Act 1978. Familiarity with Aconex and INX systems. Proven ability to interpret, analyse, and communicate complex environmental data effectively. Collaborative mindset and proactive approach to problem-solving. What We Value:
