About the role
We are looking for casual lecturers (Trimester 1 2025 start) to join our growing Early Childhood Education faculty and deliver classes.
Our delivery campus is located in the vibrant heart of Brisbane CBD, within walking distance of the Central station.
Reporting to the Head of School, you will have the opportunity to provide an exciting and engaging learning experience to our students, with the primary duties being teaching and assessing students.
About you
We are seeking a dynamic individual who is passionate about teaching and delivering an enriching learning experience. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to facilitate face-to-face and online learning.
You have good interpersonal and communication skills and are able to work in a team within a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver courses within your discipline area and facilitate learning in an engaging and dynamic manner, via on-campus and digital methodologies. Facilitate student engagement, consultation, and communication of student issues to Head of Faculty. Develop and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders to ensure smooth and cohesive delivery of subject content. Engage in weekly subject forums and discussions. Mark student assessments within specific timeframes and to the required standards. Participate in moderation and benchmarking activities as required. Attend faculty meetings and student consultations as required. Engage in scholarly practice as required. Education, Experience, and Skills:
A PhD or a master's qualification in a directly related field of study (Early Childhood Education). A minimum of 2 years and preferably 5 years or more of practicing experience in a directly related field of study. Teaching or tutoring experience is desirable. Knowledge of higher education requirements and industry standards. Knowledge of contemporary developments in your specific discipline or field and engagement in continuing professional development, scholarship, research, or knowledge of contemporary teaching, learning, and assessment relevant to your discipline, role, modes of delivery, and the specific needs of student cohorts. Passion for education. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Willingness to undergo a National Crime check, if required. Why work with Ikon?
