About the opportunity:
OHPSA is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead construction site activities for the Whyalla Hydrogen Power Plant, a landmark project in South Australia.
As the senior on-site representative, you'll ensure quality, efficiency, and safety while managing the complexities of a high-profile regional mega-project.

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all site operations to meet strict timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Collaborate with contractors to plan, coordinate, and communicate site activities.
Navigate the challenges of a remote, politically sensitive environment with resilience and adaptability.
Ensure stakeholder confidence through exceptional project delivery and leadership.
Requirements:
Proven experience in large-scale construction management.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
Key Selection Criteria:
Experience coordinating construction sites with multiple EPC contractors working in parallel.
At least 15 years in construction management, focusing on large-scale or mega-projects.
Proven expertise in remote site operations, safety regulations, and quality standards.
Strong problem-solving skills to manage risks and achieve project goals.
Commitment to safety, inclusivity, and a collaborative work environment.
Ability to handle politically sensitive issues with discretion and diplomacy.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, related field or relevant experience.
Remuneration:
ASO8, $121,107 - $125,679 per annum + superannuation
Full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week.
Special Conditions:
This is a long term contract.
Based in Whyalla.
Intrastate travel may be required.
