The key objective for the person that takes up this position is to create schedules from the estimating stage that are realistic in terms of delivery and available resources, ensuring that the Vessel Shop can consistently deliver on time and within budget.
The position will also take on an expeditor role, chasing up suppliers/service providers as per the needs of the schedule.
We are looking for someone that has good energy, is resilient, able to think outside the box, integrate well into a team, and is passionate about producing high-quality schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
Producing detailed estimate schedules, comparing with estimators' budget, and ensuring that the two are aligned before submitting tender. Activating the schedule once the contract is awarded and ensuring it is as per the build sequence. Resource load all schedules as per actual available resources to determine capacity and realistic deliveries, to be applied at the tender stage as well. Ensure progress of projects is kept up to date and actuals are captured. Liaise continuously with Production Supervisor, Project Managers, Production Manager, and Pre-Production Staff regarding the required dates for relevant items. Supply updates to Clients or Project Managers. Expedite materials as per the schedule requirements. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Experience:
Must have at least 3 years of full-time experience as a production planner in an engineering manufacturing environment (preferably Pressure Vessel/Heat exchangers) using Primavera P6. Must have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of Primavera P6 (Load resources, Level Resources, Create Histograms, build-in "What ifs", etc.). Beneficial to have a good understanding of calculating actual times for tasks (e.g., time to weld a 50NB Nozzle to shell).
