We are seeking a talented and driven Electrical & Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team.
About The Role
As an Electrical & Controls Engineer , you will provide technical expertise in electrical, instrumentation, and control systems. You will play a critical role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions that meet project requirements and exceed client expectations.
Key Responsibilities Develop, program, and troubleshoot control systems, including PLCs. Deliver technically sound designs and ensure design deliverables meet industry standards. Create and maintain technical documents such as requirement specifications, scopes of work, functional specifications, and test documents. Update relevant engineering, operational, and maintenance databases upon project completion. Manage project workloads, including engaging external service providers when necessary to meet design requirements. Ensure designs comply with safety standards through reviews, risk assessments, and risk management practices. Foster strong working relationships with team members across specialist and regional teams to deliver projects and manage assets effectively. Produce value-engineered design packages that are fit for purpose. Conduct root cause analyses for equipment failures. Lead project HAZOPs, HAZIDs, safety management studies, and operability studies in line with regulatory requirements. About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering. RPEQ certification. Certification in hazardous area equipment design. Experience in multidisciplinary engineering projects (highly regarded). Strong knowledge of Australian and International codes, standards, and statutory requirements related to electrical systems in hazardous environments and instrumentation systems. Demonstrated expertise in the design, construction, and commissioning of HV, LV, and control systems. Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen Bradley, ComAp) and HV protection systems. Advanced computer literacy and discipline-specific software skills. The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team. A strong commitment to quality, performance, and safety. Willingness to travel across Australia and New Zealand for project installations and commissioning. Flexibility to manage multiple projects within tight timeframes to meet business and project goals.
