The Housing Design Co-ordinator oversees the Strategic Housing Initiatives team and is responsible for establishing and maintaining design policies, design and quality standards, and specifications for all house design activities carried out in the program.
Key duties and responsibilities Lead and manage a small technical team to establish and maintain housing design policies, design and quality standards and specifications for all house design activities. Implement and maintain business processes and practices to ensure the 'housing design library' is accurate, and up to date including control registers and change management. Review design drawings and documentation provided by external design consultancies. Ensure the design principles are implemented in accordance with relevant policies, standards, guidelines and legislation and that quality management procedures are adhered to. Perform responsibilities of Principal Project Officer or Superintendent for housing design contracts ensuring compliance with contract conditions. Provide advice on technical matters relating to housing design and construction. Provide regular reports, briefings, memos, high level advice and other correspondence to the Senior Director relating to the assigned projects. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders including other divisions and regional offices within the Department, other Government agencies, key authorities, councils, and service providers. Selection criteria Essential Demonstrated knowledge and experience in procurement, project, and contract management. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team with a focus on governance to achieve project outcomes. Understanding of the design issues facing delivery of a public housing program in a Northern Territory community context. Demonstrated ability to proactively build and maintain effective networks with a range of internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated high degree of autonomy, self-motivation, initiative, organisational and time management skills with ability to work in a complex program delivery environment, maintain focus and confidentiality, and identify critical issues and risks. Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills including communicating technical issues in plain English. Experience with building design, construction methodologies with agility to incorporate innovative and contemporary principles. Desirable Qualification in Project Management, procurement, business administration or similar. #J-18808-Ljbffr
