With humble beginnings hosting cruises on the Great Barrier Reef, the company has grown into a borderless fleet of three ships carrying between 72 and 120 guests. For four decades, Coral Expeditions has operated with a single purpose – to take small groups of likeminded explorers to remote places with expert guidance and warm Australian hospitality. In 2023, we have returned to international sailings including New Zealand, Japan, Papua New Guinea, and Islands of Indonesia.
Job Description
To support the operation, an opportunity exists for a Third Officer to join our fleet with an immediate start.
Responsibilities include: Stand a bridge watch at sea or at anchor Assist Second Officer with passage planning Assist Chief Officer with daily ship maintenance Operate Xplorers and/or zodiacs as required to assist Deck crew Assist with all aspects of turnaround duties in port Assist in handling and transportation of all guest baggage to and from the vessel Assist in the comfort, education, entertainment and well-being of all guests. Rosters will require a commitment of up to 6 weeks duration for domestic voyages and up to 8 weeks for international voyages.

Desired Skills and Experience
The minimum requirements are: One of the following certificates of competency
Master Deck Watchkeeper (Unlimited) Chief Mate CoC Master Unlimited CoC Also, must hold: Certificate of Safety training (CoST) - AMSA endorsed International AMSA Medical Current First Aid/CPR Certificate. Desirable requirements: Passenger ship experience Proficiency in Survival Craft highly regarded Crowd Control & Crisis Management.
