About the Role: The Precinct Manager role can be based in Melbourne, Sydney, or Brisbane. The purpose of the position is to design and implement a Precinct Strategy and to deliver commercial objectives both short and long term. The position will lead the total company approach within precincts, translating and connecting precinct vision and investments into a company-wide strategic roadmap.
What You'll Do: Share overall responsibility for revenue generation, ensuring annual performance reviews and brand expansion within the defined precincts you manage. Develop a comprehensive business strategy that aligns with company objectives, leading contracts and proposals at the precinct level. Articulate a long-term strategic roadmap while efficiently driving short and mid-term projects. Cultivate and expand positive relationships with precinct customers and work in collaboration with the senior leadership team, using a multi-tier customer partnership approach. Use professional relationships to identify and develop opportunities for expanding partnerships, positioning Thermo Fisher Scientific as the supplier of choice within the precinct ecosystem. Lead collaborative and cross-functional teams to achieve strategic targets and generate new business opportunities within the precinct. Alongside our government affairs director, gain a deep understanding of state and federal government landscapes as they pertain to healthcare, life sciences, and clinical trials to build strategic advantages for Thermo Fisher Scientific within the precincts. Keys to Success: A tertiary qualification in Science or Business is required; an MBA is highly desirable. Validated experience as a consultant or senior commercial professional in the life sciences or healthcare sectors. Proven track record of achieving success in a focused and fast-paced environment. Strong discernment in our industry sector, including extensive knowledge of key players, current trends, and potential challenges. Experience working within a global, highly matrixed organization with a decentralized model is preferred. Exceptional business and financial savvy, with the ability to articulate and communicate business opportunities in the healthcare and life sciences markets. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate successful outcomes. Strong project management skills, capable of prioritizing tasks and meeting timelines. Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM, and other standard IT software systems. Physical Requirements / Work Environment Regular travel (20-30%) to engage with customers and partners. Adherence to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies, ensuring a safe and collaborative workplace.
