We are currently seeking a qualified Therapy Assistant to facilitate therapy and lifestyle programs for our residents at Bethanie Peel Aged Care Home located in Mandurah.
Bethanie Peel is a warm and welcoming 50 bed facility set amongst landscaped gardens, with a personalised memory support area to safely and securely accommodate residents with dementia or similar conditions.
We are looking for someone with a passion for working with people of all abilities and backgrounds.
Our Therapy Assistants have an enthusiastic and creative approach to their work and are able to support and cultivate our residents' strengths and interests.
An important component of this role is the ability to work autonomously and facilitate individual and group therapy sessions independently.
You will be able to work under the guidance of a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist, while also being confident in using your initiative and creative thinking to ensure sessions run smoothly.
This role is offered on a permanent full time basis working Monday to Friday 9am - 4pm.
We are also seeking applicants to form part of our casual pool who provide relief in the lead up to the festive season.

About You Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent)Previous experience in a Therapy Assistant role, ideally in an aged care or other health care environmentDemonstrated experience working with residents with advanced dementia, as this role will involve working in our dedicated Memory Support UnitAbility to communicate clearly in both a verbal and written capacity with care recipients, families and team membersAbility to work as part of a team as well as individuallyWillingness to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of The Bethanie GroupWillingness to obtain relevant vaccinationsCurrent National Police Clearance (or willingness to apply for one)The Role Implement therapy and lifestyle programs for individual residents and groupsAdapt activities to resident's level of function under the guidance of a Physiotherapist or Occupational TherapistAddress a variety of physical and psychological needs and provide opportunities for meaningful engagement for residentsMaintain accurate documentation, both paper and computer basedWorking with BethanieMany of us work because we want to make a difference.
