About The Role: As a Therapeutic Support Worker (Intensive Therapeutic Care – Significant Disabilities), you will play a crucial role in providing personalised care and support to our clients.
In this role, you will meet young individuals daily care needs such as personal hygiene, health and well-being, medical, transportation, recreational and educational support needs.
As the successful applicant, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Promote and support positive relationships and connection for children and young people with family, culture, and community. Empower young people to set and achieve personal goals, fostering a sense of agency and autonomy in their lives. Provide positive behaviour support, therapeutic interventions and safety to young people who may experience events of escalation and crisis. Document accurately events and developments related to the day-to-day provision of care for the young individuals' journey with Lifestyle Solutions. Teach important capacity building skills to young individuals diagnosed with disability, complex needs, and behaviours. Ensure NDIS plans are accessible while in our care. Support young people in developing essential life skills, including education, vocational training, and independent living skills. Advocate for the rights and needs of the children and young people. Act as a mentor and role model, providing guidance and support in developing healthy interpersonal relationships. We are seeking support workers for our female clients. About You: We are looking for Therapeutic Youth Workers who have a demonstrated passion for helping children and young people heal and grow through understanding and support in offering support to young individuals with disabilities and complex support needs, helping them lead fulfilling lives and promoting their independence.
A minimum qualification of a Diploma or Bachelor's degree Demonstrated experience working with individuals with autism and complex trauma. Experience in trauma-informed care and person-centered care. Ability to manage restrictive behaviors with patience, empathy and compassion. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an understanding of nonverbal cues such as body language, facial expressions, gestures and emotions. An interest in the outdoors and willingness to join imaginative explorer in fun filled activities. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, with the ability to express ideas, thoughts and information clearly. Willingness to undergo relevant training and development opportunities. You should have availability to suite a rotating roster that includes mornings, afternoons, weekends and overnights.
Essential qualifications include a current paid working with children check, national police check, valid driver's license, and a suitable minimum qualification, lived experience or be eligible and interested in completing a traineeship.
