We are looking for two enthusiastic professionals to join our team as specialist therapeutic consultants and practitioners. If you're driven to help children and young people feel valued, lovable, and connected, this could be the perfect role for you!
The Role As a Therapeutic Specialist, you will be a key part of the Permanency Support Program (PSP), reporting directly to the Therapeutic Specialist Team Leader. In this role, you will act as both a therapeutic consultant and practitioner, collaborating with Permanency Case Managers (PCMs) and Team Leaders to deliver care that is enriched with therapeutic insights.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Developing Behaviour Support Plans: Tailored to each child's needs and informed by Out-of-Home Care policy, in collaboration with the child's Therapeutic Care Team.Facilitating Care Team Meetings: Bringing the team together each school term to ensure unified support.Providing Therapeutic Support: Offering guidance and training on attachment and trauma to carers, PCMs, Team Leaders, and other stakeholders.Direct Work with Children: Engaging in therapeutic interventions where appropriate.Delivering Training: Facilitating Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) sessions as part of embedding the CARE Model of practice within the organization.This role involves regular travel across the Southern and Murrumbidgee DCJ Districts in NSW and the ACT, with occasional work outside standard hours.

Who We're Looking For We are seeking candidates with the following skills and qualifications:
A degree in social work, psychology, counselling, or a related field (or near completion).Relevant professional experience.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to work effectively within a team.Capacity to liaise with a variety of professionals and services.Sensitivity and impartiality in working with families under stress.Familiarity with NSW Permanency Support Program legislation and accreditation.Training in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and the CARE Model.Qualification in Therapeutic Life Story Work.Experience with statutory agency referrals and related practice challenges.Knowledge of child welfare and community services.Training to facilitate evidence-based parenting programs.Understanding of Family Group Conferencing practices.Other Requirements: National Police Check.Current Driver's Licence.NSW Working with Children Check.ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card.How to Apply To apply, please:
