Warilla (Dharawal) or Nowra (Yuin) $74,742-$128,653 (pro-rata) +super + salary packaging 30 hours pw Provide crucial intervention and prevention support to children under 10 presenting with problematic or harmful sexualised behavior.
This is a contract until June 2026 (30 hours pw).
Our client is dedicated to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through health and community services addressing domestic and family violence, sexual assault, mental health, child development, and family support.
Their mission centres around culturally responsive care, fostering healing and advocacy in Aboriginal communities impacted by trauma.
Through a holistic approach, the team collaborates with local agencies, delivering essential services to ensure safety, cultural connection, and empowerment, with a focus on children, families, and individuals at risk of or recovering from violence and complex trauma.

Applicants for this position must be of Aboriginal descent through parentage, identification as being Aboriginal and being accepted by the community.

This role will involve; Partner with Aboriginal leaders and organisations to connect with families and communities.
Perform assessments to create safety plans for children and families, respecting cultural needs.
Deliver counselling to children and families, following the program guidelines.
Work with Aboriginal Health services to keep the program culturally safe for clients and staff.
Take part in team meetings, health and safety activities, and quality improvement projects.
Engage in training, reviews, and evidence-based practices to enhance support for clients.
Join local and state networks for professional growth, teamwork, and service improvement.
Follow health and safety rules, report any risks, and act as a positive role model for colleagues and clients.
They are looking for candidates with knowledge of child development and the impact of trauma.
The requirements for this role include; Bachelor of Social Work, Psychology or equivalent experience and willing to complete the ECAV Aboriginal Pathway Advanced Diploma of Aboriginal Specialist Trauma Counselling Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the key health issues that impact Aboriginal people and communities.
Understands psychosocial assessments and developing safety plans for children and families that include cultural needs/ connections and cultural care.
Hold a valid NSW Class C Driver's Licence and a current Working With Children Check.
Vaccination Compliance : Fully meet NSW Health vaccination requirements with documented immunisation history Additional Information: Our client will consider applicants with different levels of experience and have career progression opportunities available for new graduates.
