Therapeutic and Client Services Officer
Full-time PermanentThe ACT Courts and Tribunal (ACTCT) supports the proper administration of justice by providing high quality support to judicial officers and tribunal members and high-quality services to those using the courts and tribunal. It provides the Supreme Court, Magistrates Court and ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal (ACAT) with registry, court support, forensic, corporate and strategic services.
Please note, the nature of the organisation is such that staff may be exposed to sensitive material or information that may be confronting and culturally sensitive. The ACTCT provides support services and training to assist staff in being culturally aware, resilient, and safe in the workplace.
ABOUT THE POSITION: The Therapeutic and Client Services Officer's primary role is to support the daily operations and delivery of support services to the ACTCT. This includes provisions across the ACT Supreme Court, ACT Magistrates Court and the ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal (ACAT), supporting to minimise barriers for vulnerable witnesses to enable participation in judicial processes wherever possible.
The role supports the fast-paced operations of the Remote Witness Suites, enabling and supporting vulnerable witnesses to participate in Court and Tribunal proceedings safely and with appropriate support measures in place. As such, the person needs to work within trauma informed and client-centred frameworks, with sound coordination and liaison skills, and be familiar with communications and technologies that are deployed within the courts and tribunal to support witnesses to connect and participate remotely.
This position also facilitates the recording, storage and editing of digitally recorded video evidence, across both the Magistrates and Supreme Courts. This includes the manual task of editing recordings of witness evidence to match court transcripts. Great attention to detail and time management is required to complete these tasks as well as proficiencies in editing software.

Computer literacy skills are relevant to this role as you will use several computer software programs to undertake the tasks of this role.To be eligible for permanent or temporary employment within the ACT Public Service you must be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident or hold a valid work visa.If an officer no longer holds a visa that permits them to work in Australia, their employment with the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) will be terminated.The successful candidate will be required to undergo a National Criminal History check.This position does not require a pre-employment medical.Note: This position is a client-facing role that supports vulnerable court users. You may be exposed to sensitive or traumatic situations and material.This position edits and manages court recorded evidence where witnesses of family violence, serious violence offences and sexual offences give evidence during trial. This includes evidence provided by both children and adults.Due to the operational requirements, hybrid working arrangements are not suitable for this position.
