Your Position at St John of God Bendigo Hospital
As a grade 1 Theatre Technician, you will liaise with all staff in the Operating Suite to assist with the provision of individual holistic care to ensure the highest standard of safe and skilled practice is provided which is consistent with the established objectives of the Nursing Department.
This role will be responsible for assisting the safe transfer of patients to and from the Theatre Suite and assisting with work of a general nature under supervision, such as setting up and cleaning.
The Position
Prepare the Operating Room for each surgical and endoscopic procedure, ensuring the necessary furniture, equipment, appliances and supplies are at hand and working efficiently. Liaise with the nursing staff as necessary to ensure complete OR list preparation.
Carry out necessary checks on technical equipment prior to operating lists. Seek assistance if required.
Assist with correct, safe, gentle and dignified transfer of the patient within the Theatre Suite in the presence of a member of the nursing staff.
Assist in the safe transfer of the patient to and from theatre trolleys/tables as directed and assist in the lifting and positioning of patients as required.
Assist in maintaining clean theatre corridors, anaesthetic room, theatre suites and other areas as per hospital according to Infection Control recommendations.
You will have experience with handling standard and specialised operating room equipment and be able to function well in a team and both give and receive appropriate direction.
To succeed you will possess strong organisational skills and demonstrate the ability to prioritise your workload. Working toward Certificate III in Health Service Assistant is desirable.

Salary $41.15 per hour (includes casual loading) + 11.5% superannuation.
