About the role Mater Private Hospital Townsville is seeking Theatre Orderlies to join our Perioperative team. The successful applicants will secure either Permanent Part Time or Casual employment with up to 32 hours a week available. This position supports our daily operations; successful candidates need to be available for a 24/7 roster. Salary range: $30.48 - $33.05 per hour plus superannuation, access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you'll be doing The Theatre Orderly is responsible for assisting with the transportation of patients throughout the hospital pre and post-surgery. This includes assisting nurses and doctors with manual handling of patients, setting up and cleaning of medical equipment and medical gases. All transport will be onsite across both Townsville Mater Hospitals.
Attending regular staff meetings and trainings Patient transfers and delivering excellent customer service and patient care Perform required tasks under the direction of medical and nursing staff Equipment auditing Clean contaminated equipment and other used items as required Assist with basic patient care as requested under supervision of nursing staff About you To be successful in this role you will possess:
A high level of understanding of infection control procedures and processes Experience working as an Orderly within a hospital setting (desirable not essential) Effective communication and ability to understand instructions Effective organisational skills and time management Ability to work without supervision and within a team environment Ability to demonstrate correct techniques of patient lifting, moving and transportation Physically fit and enjoy a fast-paced working environment Why join us?
