About The Role:
As a member of the Shoreline team, you enjoy the company of the elderly and are passionate about enhancing the lives of the Shoreline's residents.
You will work alongside the Companions, ensuring that residents receive the highest quality of care across all standards of the facility.

As a General Service staff member, you will be trained in both housekeeping and servery roles to fulfil the roster capacity.

In the Servery role you will be responsible for:
Prepare the servery for use.
Check current stock in fridge and freezer and that condiments are full on tables.
Collect the current breakfast, lunch or dinner sheets and check portions ordered and any special requirements.
Serve and present hot meals in line with Chef's instructions.
Clean in between meals, wipe down tables and clear dirty plates and trays.
Close down servery and return unused hot meals to kitchen.
Wipe over all tables and do washing up, clean floors.
Set up for next service.
Morning tea, afternoon tea and supper trolley runs, you must be able to find your way around and deliver hot and cold beverages, biscuits, cakes and sandwiches to rooms.
Water jug delivery morning and supper (fresh cold water first thing every morning and second delivery at supper trolley run).
Assist in coffee shop as required.
Be able to do room delivery of special meals or meals ordered from the retirement village.
Be able to work around people, be polite and accepting of resident input.
Ensure the agreed mealtimes are adhered to and that meals are provided in a consistent high quality, person centred and efficient manner.
In the Housekeeping role you will be responsible for:
Providing cleaning services according to established cleaning schedules.
Ensuring appropriate mopping and vacuuming of floors, damp dusting, waste management, restocking of supplies.
Maintaining records of completion of laundry and cleaning schedule duties.
Ensuring safe storage and use of cleaning agents, including use of correct quantities.
Participating in established infection control program.
Liaising with residents about their preferences for care and service delivery.
Working as a team member and provide a supportive environment for all employees, including acting as a 'buddy' to new employees when required.
Providing laundry services according to The Shoreline's Laundry Procedures.
Ensuring appropriate cleaning of laundry by sweeping and mopping floors, and restocking of supplies.
Maintaining records of completion of laundry schedule duties.
Ensuring safe storage and use of cleaning agents, including use of correct quantities.
Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with residents to ensure effective consultation and feedback on service.
Delivering services in line with privacy legislation and in keeping with the resident's preferences.
Interacting with residents in a kind, caring, and respectful manner.
Respecting and supporting resident diversity (such as gender, identity, and culture) and take steps to make sure all clients feel included in service delivery planning and delivery.
Supporting all residents to make informed choices about their services by providing information (within the scope of the role) or by seeking assistance from other sources.

The Shoreline is the newest luxury aged care facility on the Mid North Coast of NSW.
The precinct boasts a fresh, resort-like atmosphere and a focus on high quality care of our aged residents and building a community in the superb beach side location where we live and work.
In operation for only just over a year, The Shoreline is retirement living and premium residential aged care all packaged in to one breathtaking coastal site.
The care facility is located within the village of luxury units and villas and is a stone's throw away from a major shopping centre, beautiful beaches, and restaurants.
We are a breath of fresh air in the region, bringing the most modern-day practices to the forefront of our residents ageing experience.

About You:
As someone with a proven track record of compassion, you will demonstrate kindness and empathy with the elderly and other diverse individuals.
You will possess an intuitive responsiveness to aged care residents' individual wants and needs, whilst maintaining calm, composed and optimistic when faced with stressful or high pressure situations.
You are motivated by the opportunity to contribute to bettering the life of our aged care residents and driven to be a part of a facility that truly aims to set a new standard.

To succeed in this role you will need the following skills and attributes:
Demonstrated empathy with and commitment to the care of older people.
Demonstrated understanding of and experience in delivering exceptional customer centred service outcomes.
Ability to demonstrate kindness and empathy across all channels and model behaviours that align with the Shoreline's vision and CREED.
Understanding of the ageing process and a commitment to advocate for older people in residential care and/or home care.
Police check clearance; and Up-to-date vaccination as required by legislation or industry best practice from time to time.
