The Local Project is Australia, New Zealand, and North America's fastest growing design publication, celebrating extraordinary local design to our global community. With a focus on uncovering and understanding the impact that design makes on everyday experiences, The Local Project celebrates honest and human-centred design through premium print, digital, editorial, video and social content, with over 100,000,000+ impressions per month across our owned, operated and third-party platforms. Earlier this year we launched The Local Production, a full-service specialist agency focused on creating content to truly elevate brands. Harnessing expert knowledge and skills, we specialise in delivering strategic excellence and creative brilliance.
Some of the things you'll be working on:
Understanding, and championing, The Local Project's aesthetic, look and feel, and ensuring every edit is done to the highest possible standard within the time and resource restrictions. Liaising with DOPs, Senior Videographers and Content Creators (both in-house or freelance) on delivery of video assets. Leveraging your experience to offer suggestions on processes and procedures for the Post Production team as we continue to scale. Sourcing appropriate music, audio and visual effects and other supporting materials to support production. Working alongside the Production Manager to deliver first cuts to clients with top-line explanations and justifications for creative decisions. Working alongside the Account Management teams and Production Manager to interpret client feedback in subsequent cuts. Working alongside the Design team to support them and also leverage their skills to enhance Video Production. Managing the Server and TLP Library of footage, filing all raw footage and final assets. Experience you'll need:
Minimum of 5 years' experience working as a video editor. You will be a passionate storyteller, with a deep desire to share your skills with our talented in-house team, upskilling those around you. You will be an expert in Davinci Resolve, with excellent Colour Grading skills. An advanced knowledge of other editing software including Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. You will be business-minded, a team player, and enthusiastic about improving your own skills and those around you. A solid understanding of servers, storage solutions and appropriate workflows. Experience with editing footage captured on both RED and Black Magic camera equipment (ability to handle equipment as required will be considered a bonus). Experience working in, or a passion for, the Architecture and Design industries will be looked upon favourably. Additional requirements:
Ability to travel as required. Although not essential, a network of freelance resources with production and editing capabilities is considered beneficial. We strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people of any race, sexual orientation, gender, age or ethnicity, and those who are culturally or linguistically diverse, gender diverse, neuro-diverse or living with a disability.
