We are now expanding our kitchen team and have an amazing opportunity for a dynamic Sous Chef to join the group.
The Restaurant
The restaurant and bar are the heart and soul of Elandra. Offering mesmerizing ocean views from the newly renovated alfresco dining area, guests will experience true tropical dining with some of the most spectacular views on the east coast of Australia.
The menu concept will be modern Australian using the freshest of local ingredients, cooked simply and presented spectacularly. Seafood and Asian influences will feature heavily, along with the abundant and amazing produce available locally.
The Role
The Sous Chef Role supports the Executive Chef amongst a small team of kitchen professionals.
In addition to preparing quality cuisine, the role will involve menu development, staff training and stock control.
The position would suit someone who is ready to step up to the next level of responsibility on their way to potentially becoming a head chef of a venue.
Skills & Experience
Minimum 2-3 years' experience as a Sous Chef or senior CDP in a high-quality restaurant. Expertise in all cooking techniques, flavours, and ingredients with an emphasis on Asian flavours and seafood. Creative and innovative approach to menu development and food presentation using traditional and modern cooking techniques. Strong leadership, training, and development skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices. Ability to work in a small team environment. Adaptable to change. Understanding of stock control & ordering processes. Able and willing to work shift work, including weekends and public holidays. Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
