Australian Garnet Pty Ltd , a subsidiary of Resource Development Group Limited (ASX:RDG), supplies premium garnet abrasives to the protective coating and waterjet cutting industries from our world-class operation in Western Australia.
With the recent commencement of our owner-operated Garnet mine, located in the picturesque Lucky Bay area of Kalbarri Western Australia, we are looking to employ Metallurgists in a permanent position.
The role is 8 days on 6 days off FIFO from Perth.
Accommodation and meal allowance provided for the right candidate.
There is also the opportunity for local Kalbarri/Geraldton applicants to apply and be on a 5 days on 2 days off, 4 days on 3 days off roster.

Key responsibilities include:
Lead, mentor, and develop a skilled team of laboratory personnel.
Responsible for the metallurgical performance of the plant, including reporting of results.
Liaison with Mining, Product & Maintenance teams within Australian Garnet, via frequent informative communications.
Coordinate & plan plant surveys to verify plant performance.
Recommend to management changes to plant and infrastructure that would improve overall plant performance.
RSO role for static gauges.
Innovation with work processes, equipment, and procedures.
Assist in preparation of budgets.
Assign and allocate resources appropriately.
To be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate:
Front of mind focus on safety at all times.
Tertiary qualifications in Metallurgy or related science.
Experience with mineral sand and laboratory practices highly regarded.
Experience leading a small team.
Strong communication skills.
Act with integrity in all dealings.
Be comfortable proactively seeking feedback on self; recognize own capabilities and take initiative to continually improve.
