Our Australian Munitions teams in Benalla and Mulwala produce propellants, explosives and munitions for defence and commercial uses.

Reporting to the Director of Australian Munitions (AM), the Project Director is responsible for leading, managing, and delivering a Major Capital Works project in Benalla, driving a significant increase in AM's production capacity and revenue.
Working at our Benalla site on Yorta Yorta land, your role purpose is: Providing strategic direction to bid and project teams to deliver performance-based contracts within the defence sector.
Ensuring the project objectives in relation to performance, growth, and reputation are exceeded.
Lead and organise staff and optimise workforce planning and resource allocation for current and future needs.
Manage stakeholder relationships and communications across internal and external parties.
Build collaborative, trusted relationships with customers, suppliers, and partners.
Analyse project performance, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
Support Operational and Functional Managers with budget development and financial performance evaluations.
Your Experience On day one in this role, we'll expect you to bring the following skills, experience and behaviours: Proven track record in delivering performance-based Major Capital Works contracts preferably within a defence, manufacturing, heavy engineering or metals industries with a focus on quality-critical requirements.
Experience in designing, constructing commissioning site infrastructure and production equipment.
Extensive senior-level Bid and Project Management experience with multiple partners/co-contractors.
Commitment to project reporting, project control and supporting governance frameworks.
Effective leadership with strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead in diverse, international, and complex environments with multiple stakeholders.
Demonstrated success in developing high-performing teams and uplifting capabilities.
Skilled at navigating complexity and ambiguity to make effective commercial and financial decisions.
Ideally, familiarity with ASDEFCON Complex/Strategic Contracting Framework.
Tertiary qualification in business, engineering, project management, or a related discipline.
IPMA Certification or ability to secure certification.
Must be eligible to obtain Australian Defence Clearances.
