Thales Australia is a leading provider of systems, products, and services across the defence, security, and civil markets, both in Australia and globally.
Our AWS business offers ship repair, maintenance, and asset management services for both commercial and naval vessels.
Additionally, we provide docking, reticulated services, and facility maintenance at Garden Island.

As part of the RMP East Program, we are looking for a Maintenance Demand Manager to lead forward planning and scheduling for multiple Products Being Supported (PBS).
This role will be responsible for forecasting future work demands in the region and identifying the resources needed to meet those demands, ensuring we are well-positioned to support the region's growth.

Responsibilities: Develop and implement strategic plans, including forecasts for Maintenance Periods (MP) and Usage Upkeep Cycles Manage the Annual Regional Work Program, Five-Year Regional Work Program and Annual Work Schedule Oversee the Annual Regional Work List for all MPs Collaborate with management to create accurate project schedules and address critical path concerns Support resource levelling and identify strategies to reduce costs and improve schedule performance Update and maintain Work Pack costs in coordination with Finance and Project teams Identify key cost drivers and work to reduce them for PBS maintenance Automate recurring costs and maintenance tasks where possible Ensure the accuracy of process documents, including CDRLs and management plans Drive continuous improvement in Maintenance Demand Management On day one in this role, we'll expect you to bring the following skills, experience and behaviours:
Extensive experience in planning, production, and organizational management of large-scale maritime programs, ideally in complex defence or defence-related environments Proven ability to manage and supervise teams to meet schedule imperatives Strong understanding of contracted requirements, technical specifications, and functional standards Experience in shipbuilding, repair, or maintenance, with knowledge of Navy ship systems Familiarity with Navy engineering and maintenance systems Knowledge of the Defence Seaworthiness Management System Excellent communication and collaboration skills for effective cross-functional teamwork Demonstrated leadership, strong interpersonal skills, and experience leading multi-disciplinary teams Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business, or a related field Eligible for accreditation as a Certified Practitioner in Asset Management (CPAM), Certified Senior Practitioner in Asset Management (CSAM), or equivalent Eligible for accreditation from the International Project Management Association or equivalent Ability to obtain Australian Defence Clearances Ability to work onsite As part of our commitment, we offer:
