About the Role:
This role is particularly dedicated to the "USFPI New Kangaroo Flats Defence Project Training Area" project which consists of 2 (two) buildings: Range Control Building and Switch Room Building. The project scope includes installing metal roof sheeting, metal wall cladding, metal soft linings, insulation, and height safety systems to both buildings.
Roofers prepare commercial, industrial, or domestic roofs and install metal roofing iron on the roof to ensure it is insulated and waterproof, including the following tasks:
Look at drawings, specifications, and work sites to determine materials required. Erect ladders and elevators as required. Erect and dismantle restricted height scaffolding. Preparing the roof includes laying safety mesh and insulation, including vapour barriers which are extremely important in the tropics. Installation of the metal roofing iron involves installing box guttering, rainwater sumps, downpipes, purpose-made gutterings, and all types of flashings (weatherproof coverings) as well as laying the metal roof sheeting. Flashings range from Ridge, Baron, Apron, and Penetration flashings that will need to be hand scribed to match the profile of the roof and the penetration being flashed. Handle waterproofing materials, tools, and equipment. Apply protective paint coating systems if required. The hand scribing of flashings takes a great amount of time and skill to waterproof the roof to prevent water leaks; if not done properly by a skilled tradesman, it can create major water problems, especially during monsoonal periods. Skills and Experience Required:
Proven experience as a Roof Plumber or similar role. Knowledge of various roofing materials and installation techniques. Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Job Type: Full-time
