Description Duties: Assists Reference Staff (4th reference desk) with daily tasksInterprets computer lab policy for patrons and enforces computer lab and study room rulesManages study room reservationsChecks out study room key cards and other equipment to patronsLoads printer (6 in total) with paperTroubleshoots computer lab equipment (computers, printers, and scanners)Assists patrons with computer and software issues and questionsProvides visitors with computer accessAssists librarians with the closing of the computer labKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be prompt and on time every dayStudents hired for this position must be able to work the following times:Thursday 5:30 pm - 10:00 pm or Friday & Sunday 1 pm - 6 pm.Must have 6-month proven experience working with computers for assisting patrons and troubleshootingQualifications: Must be enrolled at UHD for the semester, applying for six (6) college credit hours or moreQualifies for Texas Work-study via Financial AidAbout University of Houston Downtown: Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2024, the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) is the second-largest university in Houston and has served the educational needs of the nation's fourth-largest city since 1974.
