The Role Ensure the stability, availability, and reliability of production platforms and applications by effectively planning and executing defined Quality Assurance processes. The role will require a strong commitment to Novigi's overall test strategy and active involvement in planning and executing test and verification strategies.
Responsibilities Pivotal liaison between customers, project teams and key stakeholders regarding testing activities, key test milestone deliverables and dependencies, along with change and release. Ensuring that appropriate testing, risk assessment and compliance to Novigi's documented Testing and Quality Standards is achieved prior to recommending software to be deployed into production. Identifying, developing and refining an appropriate test framework, processes, methodologies, infrastructure, disciplines and measurements across all technologies. Identifying the Test capability required to meet current and future project demand (resources and environments) and sourcing these in the specialised technical disciplines. Ensure testing schedules are provided and tracked for large scale projects in conjunction with key stakeholders (IT Tech leads and project Managers). Coordinating software changes and releases through all stages of the development lifecycle including the effective liaison of the production coordination of the release with key deployment personnel. Measuring and reporting of results throughout the stages of the development life cycle for the product(s) /functionality under test and the efforts of test team itself, monitoring the effectiveness of the releases once deployed and providing metrics on the quality of the systems implemented. Process Improvement Identify areas for improvement and monitor industry for emerging trends to ensure Novigi's testing function remains at the forefront of best practice.
People Management Manage a team of Senior Test Analysts and Test Analysts. This will include coaching and mentoring, skills development and performance reviews.
The skills required for the Test Lead role include: Soft Skills Excellent communication skills with the ability to directly communicate with clients in Australia as required. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. Team player, with the ability to work well with a diverse group of people. Quick learner. Willingness to learn new technologies. Strong leadership skills, ability to present to stakeholders and communicate complex issues simply. Technical Skills Degree in a Quantitative discipline such as IT or Computer Science. +5 years' experience in IT with a strong background in application testing. Must have Superannuation industry knowledge, qualifications or experience. Strong knowledge of software test methodologies and processes. Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process. Experience working on Test Automation tools (eg: Selenium, Tosca, Cucumber, REST Assured etc). Experience in software testing tools such as SoapUI, Postman, Apache JMeter is mandatory. Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting. Experience in Xray Test Management tool. Experience with Acurity Registry system. Thorough knowledge on the software development cycle (includes testing and release management). Experience working with APIs. Financial Services industry certifications, training or experience. Agile certifications, training or experience. ISTQB qualifications or equivalent – preferred. Experience in Software development will be an added advantage.
