Our client - the largest provider of multimodal public transport in Australia and New Zealand is seeking applications from seasoned Test and Commissioning managers to be part of their Automatic Vehicle Monitoring project - which involves requirement management and testing of system and sub-systems. Reporting to the program manager you will be responsible for system integration and conducting system-level tests according to the defined test plans and document test results, defects, and any deviations from expected outcomes. It is a contract job for 12 months with excellent daily/hour rates. Other benefits include hybrid working arrangement (2 days Melbourne CBD office and 3 days from wfh).
Skills & Experience required for the role:
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Certification in software testing is desirable, particularly the International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) certification.
Hands-on in systems integration testing, preferably involving operational control systems or similar complex systems.
Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
Strong background in requirement management using Jira/Confluence.
Proficient in creating test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on system requirements.
Experience in executing end-to-end systems integration tests and identifying and documenting defects.
Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit) and the ability to develop and execute automated test scripts.
Solid knowledge of defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Azure DevOps).
Understanding of remote, mobile monitoring and communications systems, and related technologies is highly desirable.
