The Test Analyst will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing test plans and test cases to ensure the quality and reliability of mainframe applications written in COBOL.12th December, 2024Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne CBD, Sydney CBDJob Summary:- The Test Analyst will work closely with development teams to understand the functionality and requirements of the applications, and to identify potential issues and risks.- The Test Analyst will also be responsible for documenting test results, reporting defects, and collaborating with development teams to resolve issues.Mandatory Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field- Proven experience in mainframe testing, with a focus on COBOL applications- Strong knowledge of mainframe testing methodologies and COBOL programming- Experience with testing tools such as IBM Rational Test Manager or Micro Focus ALM- Experience in Mainframe test automation- Excellent communication and collaboration skills- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities- Must have Australian Citizenship/ Level of security clearance should be clearly mentioned- Location of the contractor to be clearly mentioned.Desired Attributes and Skills:- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and mainframe modernization projects- Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for mainframe applications- Knowledge of other programming languages, such as Java or Python- Experience with mainframe virtualization technologies, such as z/VM or z/OS LPARsKey Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for mainframe applications written in COBOL- Design and execute manual and automated tests, including integration tests and system tests- Document test results and report defects using appropriate tools and processes- Collaborate with development teams to resolve issues and improve application quality- Participate in code reviews and testing activities- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in mainframe testing and COBOL programming.
