About Tender Funerals Canberra Region Tender Funerals Canberra Region is a not-for-profit funeral service delivering meaningful and affordable funerals. We also provide community education opportunities to empower communities and build their capacity in the death and dying space. Tender Canberra Region opened in August 2024 and has experienced growing demand since that time.
Your role As our Administrative Officer, you'll play a key part in our day-to-day operations by:
Supporting our General Manager in the day-to-day administration of the organisation Supporting our Funeral Directors in the day-to-day administrative tasks associated with funerals Supporting our Volunteers to be effective in their role Supporting our Community in answering phones, emails and providing information as required. Qualifications To be successful in this position, you will need will an ability and commitment to:
Engage with families and the community using a community-development and strengths-based approach Act in accordance with the Tender Credo, policies and procedures Value, respect and work with people from diverse backgrounds Use technology and cloud-based applications such as Google Workspace and Canva to communicate as well as create and file documents and other materials Support financial administration and general administration Work in collaboration with other organisations and community members Ensure all correspondence, documents and other work products meet high standards of proof-reading and quality control. Plan, adapt and manage time effectively Be accountable for one's own professional practice Engage with continuous professional development in all aspects of the Tender Funerals operations Be able to travel to and from work without reliance on public transport You must also have a willingness to work in space that involves death and dying and that will bring you into close proximity to people who are grieving and people who have died.
