About the Tenancy Support Program  The Tenancy Support Program (TSP) assists living in public housing or on the public housing wait-list in the greater Darwin region including Urban Indigenous Communities (Bagot, One Mile Dam, Knuckey's Lagoon and Palmerston Indigenous Village) to achieve successful tenancies and better integrate with the broader community. Case management is delivered with a whole-of-family approach to clients who are either self-referrals or referred by Territory Housing.
Benefits and perks Conditions of employment covered by the Larrakia Nation Aboriginal Corporation Enterprise Agreement 2018. Salary range starting at $47.33 per hour. Option to salary package a maximum of $15,899 from your gross salary each year; 5 weeks pro rata annual leave per year; and a 35-hour week. Key Responsibilities OBJECTIVE: Lead the delivery of culturally appropriate support to Indigenous families residing in the greater Darwin region including some town Communities in order to build resilience and wellbeing to enable them to remain in their homes.
Is responsible for coordination of the program to ensure the delivery of services within holistic and case management framework and that supports the program in achieving its contractual obligations;Ensure Case Workers are working within the relevant legislation, program guidelines and Larrakia Nation`s policies and procedures;Supervision of the programs staff and the coordination of their day to day activities;Develops and maintains effective relationships with LNAC and other relevant stakeholders in the interest of the client and the program;In collaboration with the Finance Department, ensure that funds and resources are managed and used for their intended purpose;Assists in the development and implementation of procedures;Ensure client confidentiality and legal accountable practices at all times;Willingness to engage in hands-on tasks, including manual labor, trailer maneuvering, and waste disposal activites;Other position related duties as agreed in performance agreement with the Family Services Manager.Key Selection Criteria Experience in working with Indigenous people and communities, including ability to develop rapport with clients and share knowledge and skills in a culturally appropriate manner.Demonstrated experience in leadership, coordination, management and supervision of a team.Demonstrated experience with leading collaborative partnerships and a well-developed capacity to consult, collaborate and negotiate effectively with a diverse range of external and internal stakeholders.Knowledge of family services, especially those that have a focus on Indigenous families at risk and ability to work collaboratively with other service providers.Understanding of tenancy management in a social housing environment, particularly the history and contemporary circumstances of urban Indigenous community dwellers.Strong communication and interpersonal skills including, active listening, flexible attitude, cultural sensitivity, client focus and negotiation skills.Experience and competence in the use of a range of information technologies and applications, including the internet, spread sheet, database and word processing applications.Ability to perform physical tasks, ensuring the safe handling of materials, and contributing to the efficient operation of our unit.NT manual Drivers Licence (C Class).Experience in the use of Specialist Homelessness Information (SHIP) platformCertificate III in Community Services or higherApplicants are required to undergo Drug and Alcohol testing as part of the recruitment process.
