As the Tenancy Support Coordinator, you'll be pivotal in providing tailored tenancy education and pathways to specialist services for our tenants, addressing challenges impacting their tenancy, stabilizing their living situations, and fostering independence.
With your commitment to empowering individuals and your expertise in delivering personalized support, you'll play a crucial role in helping tenants achieve stability and thrive in their homes.Your key responsibilities will be to:Receive and respond to referrals from a joint referral team.Conduct home visits and risk assessments.Collaborate with tenants to create tailored support plans and identify necessary supports.Assist tenants in transitioning to independence or other services.Maintain accurate tenant files and complete required documentation.Stay updated on relevant tenancy laws and guidelines.Provide various forms of support to tenants and participate in quality assurance efforts.Report incidents and hazards promptly.Build positive relationships with tenants and external stakeholders.Work with the team to develop innovative strategies for improved outcomes.Engage in community activities benefiting tenants and the wider community.Valid Driver's License.Requirements for SuccessDegree in Community Services with at least one year's experience or Associate Diploma with relevant experience or less formal qualification with substantial years of relevant experience.Previous experience in housing is preferred.Understanding of the challenges faced by individuals at risk of homelessness.Excellent knowledge of local services available around the Darwin area.Ability to work empathetically, employing a strengths-based approach to develop personalized support plans and engage in collaborative problem-solving with tenants, families, and other service providers.Exceptional listening and interpersonal skills, with a capacity to establish and nurture relationships with diverse individuals and stakeholders.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Capacity to maintain accurate and current records.Excellent organizational, administrative, and computer proficiency.Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.Our cultureOur innovative and inclusive culture will ensure you feel valued at Mission Australia as you help Australians in need and develop in your career.
