The Tasmanian tenancy team is part of our housing supports program who work with older Tasmanians to maintain stable long-term housing and seek ways to improve their overall health and well-being.
Your new role We are currently seeking a proactive individual to join our Tenancy Management Team as the Tenancy Management Worker in this Part Time position.
Initially, you will be reporting to the State Manager, Housing and Homelessness Services (HHS) Tasmania, and will be responsible for managing our properties, in accordance with the Residential Tenancies Act, TAS 1997.
You will oversee tenancy compliance, manage tenancy data, coordinate the entry and exit of tenants, and work in collaboration with our HHS team, Community development worker and external service providers.
This position requires a tenancy management worker who is comfortable and skilled with working alongside people with complex needs, who may be experiencing challenges regarding their aging needs, including mental health, cognition, mobility and literacy challenges.
Your responsibilities and duties will also include: Process maintenance work order requests and work closely with our maintenance team to ensure all works are satisfactorily completed.
Annual Property Inspections Ensure all landlord duties are carried out, in accordance with the Residential Tenancies Act, Tas 1997 Managing tenancies to high standards in accordance with requirements of the funding contract we operate within.
Assisting tenants to maintain stable housing and independence, by resolving rent arrears in a proactive manner, engaging with tenants in a timely and supportive manner, maintaining the properties in accordance with their lease agreement and relevant legislation.
Data entry, maintain hard copy and electronic files to a high standard, file notes, tenant letters and tenant community reminders.
Collaborate with the HHS workers, and the community development worker to bring about sustainable outcomes for our tenants.

We are looking for candidates with the following: A current Tasmanian drivers licence A good understanding of the current Tasmanian Residential Tenancies Act 1997.
Experience representing in the Magistrates Court of Tasmania Experience in working effectively and sensitively with a broad range of clients, including those with high support needs and challenging behaviours Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A commitment to social justice.
Experience in CHINTARO or industry Real Estate Management Software,  trust accounting, Microsoft and Excel etc (highly advantageous) First Aid Certificate This sounds great!
