The temporary employment register is open for candidates to register a general expression of interest for employment with the Department of Social Services (DSS) by submitting a resume and 600 word statement outlining the relevant skills and experience you would bring to the role and any relevant qualifications. The register will be utilised to access skilled candidates to fill roles at short notice across the department.
The primary focus of Executive Assistants at all classifications is to provide high-level support by undertaking moderately complex administrative activities and tasks for Senior Executive staff such as:
management of the Executives diary, phone, in-tray and emailpreparation of routine correspondence, briefs and coordination papersproviding travel, accommodation and financial acquittal servicescoordination of administrative tasks such as stationery orders, phone lists, property and accommodation related requestscontinuous improvement of the Senior Executives office performance through the use of efficient and practical administration processes and systemsmanagement of regular branch-wide internal reporting and meetingsassigning and collating briefs such as senate estimates briefings and coordinating document management via the Parliamentary Document Management System (PDMS)providing secretariat duties for branch meetingsworking collaboratively with other Executive Assistants/Executive Officers and the broader business areaad-hoc tasks as required.
