Management Accountant, Commercial Initiatives - CliniKids West Australia's biggest and only medical research institute dedicated to improving kids' health and wellbeing has been rebranded to The Kids Research Institute Australia.

The Opportunity
The Management Accountant will support the clinical services of The Kids, including CliniKids, by delivering accurate financial reporting on revenue, expenses, and budget performance. This role involves managing accounting processes, performing financial analysis, and supporting day-to-day transactions as needed. The successful candidate will assist with financial modelling, general accounting, and stakeholder reporting whilst collaborating closely with the Institute Finance team. Additionally, they will contribute to special projects to drive continuous improvement and add value to the Institute.
Some of your duties will include:

Develop a good understanding of the financial aspects of clinical service delivery and guide stakeholders through the related financial processes and implications. Review service-related contracts prior to execution for compliance with institute policies and procedures, GST Law, and other requirements. Identify, analyse, and provide recommendations to resolve financial issues that are aligned to the priorities of the commercial initiative. Ensure reporting requirements are met including the preparation and completion of financial acquittals and other financial reporting to funding organisations. Provide financial advice and modelling for the development of business cases and innovative business models.
Based at our Subiaco and Nedlands offices, this role will be offered on a full-time basis for 2 years in the first instance.
About You
The key to your success will be your demonstrated experience in management accounting which is supported by a relevant tertiary qualification in Commerce or Business and your membership of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand; CPA Australia; the Institute of Public Accountants or evidence of working towards membership.
Along with this, your application will also reflect your experience in the following:
Knowledge of business management and accounting principles to support strategic planning and resource allocation. Experience in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal skills to deliver information to a broad range of stakeholders at all levels of the Institute (e.g. management, funding bodies, professional staff). Knowledge in Business Central and ERP systems.
