Telecommunications Technician

We are seeking Telecommunications Technicians for our Canberra, ACT team.
The duties include, but are not limited to: Installation, testing and commissioning of fibre optic and copper infrastructure.
"Rack and stack" of enterprise IT and computer equipment, including servers, networking equipment, routers, switches, cooling units, cables, cable management trays.
Installation and patching of switches, servers, storage arrays and other ICT equipment.
Decommissioning of ICT equipment.
Installation of cable containment.
Actively contributing your technical experience within a team of professional, skilled, installation technicians.
Liaising with Company clients.
Contributing to the maintenance of a safe working environment.
Job Description As a key member of our team, you will utilise your expertise in installing, testing, and commissioning fibre optic and copper cabling infrastructure for our clients.
Your role will also involve deploying and decommissioning enterprise ICT and computer equipment, including server cabinets and racks.
Proficiency in cable management, encompassing containment baskets/trays and ducting, is essential.
Working alongside accomplished technicians, you'll play a pivotal role in mentoring and training apprentices, fostering their hands-on development.
Your strong communication skills will be invaluable as you liaise with clients and collaborate within our fast-paced, growing environment.
About You You will: Bring experience in technical telecommunications, specialising in cabling, fit outs and advanced fibre optic installations.
Be confident in working with servers, networking equipment, routers, switches, cooling units and Wi Fi.
Experience in cable patching and splicing would be highly regarded.
Have access to a reliable work vehicle (appropriate for carrying tools and supplies from one site to another, across the greater Canberra area).
Be willing to be a part of an on-call roster.
Hold or be eligible to obtain your baseline/NV1 security clearance.
Excel in both collaborative team environments and in working independently.
Showcase proactive problem-solving skills, exceptional attention to detail and always have focus on health, safety, environment and quality.
A strong background in managing and scheduling small to medium size communication cabling projects and services.
Hold your ACMA Licence with endorsements of Structured and Fibre Optics with a number of years industry experience; Strong leadership skills, proven ability to lead teams of technicians and apprentices to consistently deliver high quality projects and service works; Great customer service and exceptional attention to detail; A high level of computer skills with proficiency in Word and Excel; What's in it for you?
