Telecommunications Engineer – Perth-based candidates only Initial 12 months contract with potential extension.
We're looking for a Telecommunications Engineer to join our client's global team in Perth. If you have a background in telecommunications and cybersecurity in industrial settings, this could be your next opportunity.
Your Responsibilities: Network Security: Design secure, reliable networks with a focus on OT cybersecurity.
SCADA Systems: Support cybersecurity measures for SCADA systems.
Design Documentation: Create design documents like scope of works and commissioning procedures.
Team Management: Lead small teams during construction and testing.
Vendor Liaison: Work with vendors to ensure project specifications are met.
On-Site Work: Perform site inspections, audits, and commissioning.
Effort Estimates: Assist with engineering and design hour estimates.
Safety in Design: Promote safety practices in communication projects.
Network Design: Provide guidance on network design to colleagues.
Switch Configuration: Configure PCS/OT switches and perform hands-on testing.
What You'll Need: Degree in Electronics & Communications or Electrical Engineering.
Experience in telecommunications projects with cybersecurity elements.
Background in communications systems for the mining industry. Knowledge of ISA/IEC 62443 OT cybersecurity standards.
Experience with PCS/OT network switch configuration and testing (Cisco equipment preferred).
Ability to work independently and in teams, with strong attention to detail.
Bonus: Experience with electrical or multidisciplinary design.
