We're currently seeking a qualified Telecommunications Engineer to join our team at Unit 5/19 Gatwick Road, Bayswater, VIC 3153.
Role Overview: As a Telecommunications Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless functioning of telecommunication devices, networks, and systems.
Your responsibilities will span from planning and designing to building, configuring, and commissioning various systems, including voice, data, and digital data systems.
Key aspects of your role include: Plan and design various systems, such as voice, data, and digital data systems, and oversee their building, configuration, and commissioning.
Maintain conformity with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and protocols when delivering telecommunications systems.
Develop engineering project proposals that establish goals, define scope, identify background and need, and determine the cost of equipment, parts, and services.
Evaluate and source new products and services from vendors to ensure that the systems remain up-to-date with the latest advancements.
Ensure seamless interconnection of telecommunications systems with equipment from different manufacturers, service providers, and users.
Select and develop telecommunications sites, prepare necessary approval documents, and determine the optimal configuration of hardware and software to enhance telecommunications equipment performance.
Interpret and prepare specifications, drawings, and regulations for the use of telecommunications equipment.
Determine the ideal type and arrangement of circuits, transformers, circuit-breakers, transmission lines, and equipment required for optimal system functioning.
Identify and analyze problems and needs of existing telecommunications systems, such as interference, intelligibility, and clarity.
Determine the best approach to reduce, eliminate, and prevent current and future problems, with the aim of enhancing communication.
Monitor telecommunications systems to assess the need for updates, upgrades, enhancements, preventive maintenance, and new systems.
Evaluate the performance levels of system hardware and software, project future needs, and develop short- and long-term plans for equipment updates and capability additions.
Your Skills & Experience: To excel in this role, you'll need: A degree in telecommunications engineering.
Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.
Proven ability to meet critical deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Full working knowledge of Fibre Optic Networks and Copper Networks.
Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Benefits: We offer a competitive remuneration package of AU$85,000 plus superannuation per annum for a full-time permanent role, consisting of 38 hours per week.
