The Role & Requirements:
We are seeking engineers and technical officers to design and support the construction of grid scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) to deliver affordable energy as we are powering towards 80% renewable energy by 2035. These projects are pushing the frontier of renewable technology here in Australia, so apply today to make your impact.

Join us a member of the Substation Design & Engineering team, where you will apply your expertise to deliver a diverse range of engineering activities associated with the design, development and implementation of telecommunication assets for the BESS projects.

You will play a key role via the delivery of telecommunication design support with peer checking and preparing estimates, providing technical advice and contributing to the development of peers through quality technical support.

Engage with construction and operation teams in Safe Design conversations as associated with the design of telecommunications systems and associated structures and equipment.

You will hold your Advanced Diploma or Associates Degree in Telecommunications & Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or relevant equivalent qualification.

You will need an in depth knowledge and demonstrated experience in the design principles and practices of Telecommunications, with knowledge of associated protection fundamentals, SCADA, power station, substations, and civil/structural requirements. You will also need a background in fixed network design (optical fibre & microwave), cellular technologies and CAD software.

There are opportunities across our offices in Brisbane (Newstead), Toowoomba, Maryborough, Rockhampton, Mackay, Townsville (Garbutt), and Cairns.
With flexi-working and a 9 or 10 day fortnight in place, the bottom of the salary band from starts from $139,032 for 9 days and $157,106 for 10 days. The level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the successful applicant's knowledge, skills and competencies that are required in this position. Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Energy Queensland Union Collective Agreement 2020.
