About your role:

Join us as a member of the Substation Design & Engineering team , where you will deliver a diverse range of engineering activities associated with the design, development, and implementation of telecommunications assets for our network substations. Play a key role via the delivery of telecommunication design support

for stakeholders as you prepare estimates, provide technical advice and contribute to the development of your peers through quality technical support. You will utilise CAD software and applications to produce detailed designs, models and drawings. There is plenty to learn and discover in this role. Broaden your telecommunications skills as you work on a variety of projects, including substation, customer and telecommunications projects . You will be exposed to a variety of telecommunication technology types, including optical fibre and microwave networks for both TDM and IP/MPLS. With flexi-working and a 9 or 10 day fortnight in place, the bottom of the salary band starts from $152,776

for 9 days and $172,637

for 10 days. About you:

Important to the success of your role is your: An Associate Degree in Telecommunications & Electronics Engineering (or relevant equivalent qualification), or An Advanced Diploma in Telecommunications & Electronics Engineering (or relevant equivalent qualification) supported by a relevant technical or 'trade' qualification. Experience in telecommunications systems design to deliver the various end-to-end services required to support modern industrial networks. Ideally with knowledge of the associated protection fundamentals, SCADA and substation requirements that pertain to an electricity distribution network. Background in fixed network design. You will be familiar with optical fibre and microwave networks for both TDM (PDH/SDH – Nokia PDH in particular) and IP/MPLS. Experience with cellular technologies, preferably GE Orbit, Cybertec, and Satellite (Sabre Ranger) variants. An in-depth knowledge and experience in the use of AutoCAD, SAP, Vault Document Management and Pathloss Radio Path Profiling software. Experience with estimation systems and applications will be beneficial. Strong verbal and written communication skills and cross-workgroup collaboration experience with high stakeholder management ability. Knowledge of the Safe Design principles and Safety requirements associated with the design of telecommunications systems and associated structures and equipment – familiarity with relevant acts, regulations and codes.
