We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced Defence Network Engineers to support upcoming Defence contracts in either permanent or contracting engagements.
As a Network Engineer at C4i Solutions, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of secure and efficient network systems for our clients. You will work closely with other IT professionals to ensure the stability and integrity of in-house and client network services. This role requires a deep understanding of networking technologies, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
You could be expected to: Design, deploy, and manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure optimal performance and uptime.Manage and maintain network security, including the configuration of firewalls, VPNs, and other security measures.Perform regular network assessments and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.Collaborate with clients to understand their networking needs and provide tailored solutions.Work with cross-functional teams to support network integration and infrastructure projects.Develop and maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.Provide technical support and guidance to clients and internal teams.Stay up-to-date with the latest networking technologies and trends to continually improve the network infrastructure.Participate in the planning and execution of network upgrades and expansions.About you: Ex-Defence personnel highly regarded! Due to the nature of our work, an Australian Citizen with a current or recently inactive AGSVA clearance is required.Able to multi-task and prioritise workload.Able to show initiative and adapt to client requirements.Able to build and maintain relationships.Able to manage conflict.A self-starter who takes the initiative with excellent problem-solving skills.A high level of communication both written and verbal.An ability to work either individually or as part of a broader team.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Proven experience as a Network Engineer, preferably in a Government or Defence environment.Strong knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.Experience with network hardware from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, and Fortinet.Proficiency in configuring and managing firewalls, VPNs, and other security devices.Understanding of network monitoring and management tools.Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex network issues.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and team members.Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS, or similar) are highly desirable.Why work for us?
