Permanent Role - Hybrid and Sydney basedHow will I help?The Technology Domain Owner is a role in Technology Operations responsible for all aspects of the Business Village Technology (Strategy, Business Engagement, Discovery, risk, finance, and Innovation). This role will lead Transformation Engineering for Group Operations Transformation and be the single point of contact for all technology needs for the programs in Group Operations.You will join Group Operations Technology to partner with CCS (Customer & Corporate Services) Business, focusing on Simplification, Digitisation, and Automation. You'll work closely with business project teams, the CTO, and solution providers across Group Tech, while also engaging with technology and operations risk teams. The ideal candidate will balance strategic transformation plans with immediate business needs to propose Appian-aligned solution designs.Key Responsibilities:Roadmap Alignment: Define and oversee the technical roadmap for the platform ecosystem, ensuring that all applications and systems align with the broader technical and business strategies.Performance Management: Take ownership of the solution's performance within the domain, ensuring that systems are scalable, efficient, and meet operational KPIs. Continuously optimise performance and remove bottlenecks.Licensing and OPEX Management: Oversee the management of software licensing and operational expenses (OPEX) focusing on enabling an effective support model (L1, L2, and L3 support), reducing costs and optimising resource utilisation.Capability Building and Talent Development: Own the development of technical capabilities by identifying skill gaps, establishing learning paths, and ensuring the right mix of technical expertise is available across squads. Encourage upskilling in new technologies and frameworks through training programs, certifications, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.Alignment with Enterprise Standards: Ensure all technology team members adhere to the organisation's software engineering standards, best practices, and architectural guidelines.Culture of Engineering Excellence: Promote a mindset of engineering excellence within the chapter, adopting modern engineering practices such as Test-Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), automation, and security by design.Performance Management and Feedback: Establish clear performance metrics for all Technology team members, focusing on technical contributions, collaboration, and innovation. Provide continuous feedback through regular 1:1s, coaching, and mentoring to help team members grow and succeed in their roles.Work with the CPO and through the PO Sync: Champion the product backlog for Technology, ensuring that features are prioritised based on business value, customer feedback, and technical dependencies.Bridge Business and Technical Teams: Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and the Technology team (engineers, solution designers) to ensure mutual understanding of requirements and technical feasibility.Software Engineering Lifecycle (SELC): Work with the technology organisation and other stakeholders to ensure alignment to the Software Engineering Lifecycle (SELC) process, ensuring that the Release Train is meeting its commitments to SELC through active management.What's in it for me?You'll play a significant part in the future of a business that has been around for over 200 years.
