This is a contract role for 12 months with a big potential to extend. The ideal candidate would have worked in an integration project and would be able to navigate between legacy and modern technologies.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESCore Focus on Data Architecture:The Technology Architect is responsible for designing and managing data systems that support the bank's goals.They will need to navigate the complexities of the current data environment, including Microsoft Azure and AWS, and develop strategies to migrate systems to align with future objectives.Familiarisation with Data Management frameworks and methodologies such as DMBOK, TOGAF etc.Shaping Business Outcomes:This role is not purely technical. The architect must ensure that data architecture aligns with the bank's broader business goals by engaging closely with key stakeholders.They will bridge technical teams and business units, ensuring data strategies not only deliver valuable insights but also support key business outcomes.Technology Stack Rationalisation: Review the current technology landscape and work alongside the leadership team to determine the key technologies for retention vs decommission. This includes consolidating systems, adopting new fintech solutions, and focusing on data handling and security.Leadership and Advisory Role:As a leader in the data domain, the architect will influence decision-making across the bank, ensuring data is used strategically to support business objectives.They will convert complex technical details into actionable business strategies while maintaining focus on data governance, compliance, and security.Target Operating Model (TOM): Design the TOM for IT operations, outlining roles, governance structures, processes, and service delivery models to support the efficient management of technology and data.OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:Technical Leadership: Provide guidance on data architecture frameworks and methodologies (DMBOK, TOGAF) in line with current practices.Data Governance and Compliance: Ensure all data management complies with banking regulations such as PCI-DSS, Basel III, and GDPR.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various teams across the organisation to ensure that data management aligns with the overall goals of the organisation.Data Integrity & Security: Assess data quality, structure, and security.
