About the role Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs.
As a Laboratory Technician, you will provide support with metallurgical test work, sampling & analysis and ensure Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) compliance to D5, DMIRS and global tailings standards are maintained.
Key responsibilities of the role include: Assist RDE with D5 projects and GISTM compliance, ensuring TSFs operate to design intent Execute spigot and valve rotations as per deposition plans Conduct daily inspections of TSF facilities, pipelines, and infrastructure Manage pump and pipe systems (decant, underdrainage, seepage) and refuelling schedules Inform QSR/RDE of issues from regular D5 inspections Perform remedial or maintenance actions based on inspections Raise notifications, work orders, and purchase orders for maintenance Attend daily DDMs, risk assessments, and assurance activities for operational feedback Participate in Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP) Mock Exercises Manage routine test work for plant performance evaluation Support process engineers/metallurgists in optimizing plant performance through testing and surveys Coordinate dispatch and receipt of metallurgy samples and equipment Report sampling/survey data accurately and timely Assist with downtime data validation and reporting Help the laboratory team with sample collection and preparation when needed What you'll bring To be considered for this role, you will have: A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team Understanding of unit operations of mineral processing equipment Sound written and verbal communication skills Prior experience in a similar role or in a laboratory environment A manual C Class drivers' licence Computer Literacy (SAP experience, Microsoft Suite) Strong commitment to health, safety and environment First Aid and High-Rish Work Licences preferred Experience in interpretation of data and understanding trends What we offer Be recognised for your contribution, your thinking and your hard work, and go home knowing you've helped the world progress.
